James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Good depth to the colour; a more robust, full-bodied style than Jim Chatto normally makes, but it comes together in the end, as the depth of the blackcurrant and blackberry fruits does carry the challenge of the tannins. Patience will be rewarded.

James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
A dark and chewy wine, with strong leather notes to frame the pure cassis and blackberry fruit; very tannic, but the fruit concentration is there to see it through; needs a little patient cellaring.

James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
The bouquet offers an array of black fruits with undertones of spice and cedar; on the palate the wine has a degree of austerity, needing to loosen its grip somewhat, although this is not a tannin issue.
