Petaluma Croser Rose Sparkling

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

The name Croser has been linked with Aussie wines for decades. He was one of our trailblazers through the 90s when he was still at Petaluma, but alas he is no longer the winemaker. However, he did leave the wines in the hands of his right-hand man, so it's all good! This Rose bubbly is full of juicy red berries and cherries, along with hints of soft spice, roses and buttered toast. The palate is bright and super-creamy, with a fine bubble, bright acidity, and a long red fruited finish. Lovely bubbly!

Winemaker's Notes

A sublime rose sourced from premium Piccadilly Valley fruit. Pomegranate, wild strawberry and cherry aromas burst from the glass and flood the palate with biscuity notes adding complexity and style. Creamy, stylish and delicious.

Tyson Stelzer (2008 Vintage) says
A delightfully elegant style from Piccadilly Valley pinot noir, with a very pale salmon peach hue from whole bunch pressed fruit, with a flatteringly low dosage and creamy finish.

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Sports the most ghastly remake of what was once a very elegant label, the virulent puce colour to blame. A 100% pinot noir, tiraged into this bottle Nov '08. Pale salmon, it is well-balanced, with complex spice, brioche and cake flavours intermingling with red berry fruit in the background; good balance, mouthfeel and length.
