Peter Lehmann Cellar Reserve Old Tawny

Cracka Review

Denoting its exceptional age, the colour is a bright burnished copper, yet with a hint of green. This indicates that it is a blend of both red & white grapes. The base wine is from the original Hoffmann stocks and whose age was unknown. It shows beautifully lifted brandy spirit & rancio characters on the nose. The palate is deliciously nutty with soft buttery caramel and hints of vanilla bean. Rare Tawnies are traditionally sipped at the end of a fine meal. However, we like to chill ours occasionally & are happy to drink as an aperitif, or with a superb fruit cake for afternoon tea.
