Peter Lehmann Stockwell Road Shiraz

Expert Reviews

Jeremy Oliver (2009 Vintage) says
An honest, sweetly fruited, smooth and polished shiraz with a jammy bouquet of dark plus, cassis and cedary oak bakced by a minty note of dried herbs. It's long, intense and juicy, with a generous, uncomplicated palate that finishes with freshness and softness.
The Australian Wine Annual 2014 Edition 2014
Campbell Mattinson (2005 Vintage) says
This is regularly one of the best red buys of the year, though this seems strangely below par. 2005 RELEASE There's a reasonable amount of flavour and grip here but I'm left wanting more. It tastes raspberried and plummy and there's a touch of toasty oak - all good stuff - but it lacks an extra degree of punch. There are better wines around the same price (even within the Lehmann range). DRINK 2008-2012.
The Big Red Wine Book 2008
James Halliday (1998 Vintage) says
Medium to full purple-red; strong vanilla oak on the bouquet is followed by some nice berry fruit. The flavours of both fruit and oak on the palate are less intense than the bouquet, but the balance of the wine is pleasant.
Australian Wine Companion 2001 2001
James Halliday (1997 Vintage) says
Medium to full red-purple; there is quite solid dark berry fruit on the bouquet, and the oak influence is appropriately restrained. Pleasant dark berry fruit, soft tannins and gentle oak provide good balance and structure to an attractive commercial red.
