Rob Geddes MW (2008 Vintage) says
Modern elegant dryer Australian style that is world class. The maker is a self confessed port nut which always makes a new vintage interesting to taste. State of the art right up to being sealed with a screw cap. Portuguese varieties add a savoury currant note while the Rutherglen region builds blackberry plum ripeness while the spirit edge adds complexity. The winemakers manage the fruit tannin and brandy spirit balance to build a very complex style. Less sweet and more chewy than the old days and better for it.
