Pikes The White Mullet Viognier Chenin Blanc Sauvignon Blanc

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

What’s the white mullet, well it’s not the haircut of an Albino but a weird and wonderful blend of Riesling, Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc and Chenin Blanc. That’s quite an interesting mix but surprisingly it works harmoniously. It’s lively with zesty tropical and citrus aromas as well as perfumed musk. The palate is bright and lifted with tropical fruit salad flavours before a long, layered finish with balanced, crispy acids. Try it with some medium spicy Asian dishes for best results.

Winemaker's Notes

Appearance: Pale green.

Nose: Fresh, zesty aromas of citrus, tropical fruit and a hint of floral perfume displayed.

Palate: Crisp, bright and fresh with the zingy acidity balancing the attractive core of fruit salad flavours very nicely.

An unlikely Clare Valley blend of riesling, viognier and chenin blanc results in a fresh, juicy white showing some apple and pear flavours and cleansing zippy acidity.
