Pipers Brook Vineyard Riesling

Rob Geddes MW (2012 Vintage) says
Ripe year richness with lush stone fruit, guava and rose floral aromas and subtle spice. The ripe, rich and long fruit palate has stone fruits and riper white fruits with a lick of honey development, silky concentration and depth, and fleshy for a riesling. Ripe, concentrated fresh and fleshy textured drink early style of Tasmanian riesling with seared scallops.

Jeremy Oliver (2012 Vintage) says
Beautifully fresh and precise, with a perfume of small white flowers, lime juice, apple and pear backed by a hint of tropical fruits. It's long and smooth, with an even presence of pear, green apple skin and lime juice flavours underpinned by a lick of wet slate and wrapped in a tangy, lemony finish of gentle acidity. Vivacious but effortless, with beautiful balance and focus.

James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
A floral bouquet with some blossom aromas leads into a palate with intense, layered fruit flavours running from citrus to full-on tropical, offset against equally intense natural acidity. Striking wine.
Australian Wine Companion 2011 2010
Jeremy Oliver (2008 Vintage) says
Opulent, powerful and concentrated, with an exceptional length of spotless fruit finely balanced with a fine undercarriage and mineral acids. Scented with a musky, floral bouquet of lime, tropical fruits and lemon rind with a suggestion of candied fruit, it's long and luscious, tightly knit with a finely crafted chalkiness. It finishes taut and focused, with a lingering persistence of vibrant, spicy flavour

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
A very refined and understated wine, driven by the framework of minerally acidity that frames the delicate citrus fruit. Development guaranteed.

James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
An ever-so-faintly reduced bouquet, but a lively light bodied palate with great thrust; lime and passion fruit flavors, with balanced acidity

Jeremy Oliver (2005 Vintage) says
A superb, round and generous riesling whose musky, floral perfume of pear, apple and white peach reveals rose oil-like nuances. Exceptionally intense and brightly flavoured, its juicy, long and bone-dry palate of apple/pear fruit has an Alsace-like sumptuousness, finishing with great length and a terrific balance with lemony acids.

James Halliday (2004 Vintage) says
Pale straw-green; very tight and discreet, bordering on austere, but the balance good, the acidity controlled.
Australian Wine Companion 2006 2005
Jeremy Oliver (2004 Vintage) says
A deeply perfumed and intensely flavoured riesling with more than a touch of Alsatian texture and structure. Its slightly reductive aromas, exacerbated by its screwcap seal, clear away to leave a floral perfume enhanced by pristine scents of lime, lemon blossom and apple, with underlying nuances of wet slate. Smooth and viscous although not oily, its intense palate of musky, spicy and otherwise spotlessly pure riesling fruit is only slightly marred by a spirity alcoholic warmth.

James Halliday (2002 Vintage) says
Light straw-green; a crystal-clear and fragrant bouquet with lime blossom aromas is followed by a beautifully balanced palate ranging through apple to lime, with a fine, filigreed finish and acidity.
Australian Wine Companion 2004 2003
James Halliday (2001 Vintage) says
Light to medium green-yellow; a fragrant yet delicate, Germanic-lime bouquet merges into a pure, clean and crisp palate which builds intensity progressively towards the finish.

James Halliday (1999 Vintage) says
Whatever second thoughts Andrew Pirie has had about the suitability of Pipers Brook's foundation vineyard to certain varieties, he has none about Riesling. Fresh and zesty lime, apple and spice aromas are replicated in the delicious flavours of the palate. Will build complexity and richness as it slowly matures.
Australian Wine Companion 2001 2001
James Halliday (1998 Vintage) says
Light to medium yellow-green; there is fine, lime/tropical fruit in abundance on the bouquet; the elegant, tightly structured and long palate presents quite lovely lime-accented flavours, and guaranteeing a long life. One of the best Pipers Brook Rieslings for years.
Australian Wine Companion 2000 1999
Rob Geddes MW (1991 Vintage) says
Rose musk floral style with the palate following the nose this will round out pleasingly.
