Cracka Review

Here we have a belter of a shiraz from Pirramimma that is bound to satisfy the fussiest of palates. It's a full-blooded, rich, sweet-fruited number that weighs in at 14.8% and shows lots of dark cherries, plums, dark chocolate, licorice and toasted cedar on the nose. The palate is plush and succulent, with choc-coated cherry and pepper spice flavours, fine-grained tannins with a slight grip, and a slinky, spicy finish that goes on and on. Cellar it for a few years or crack one open tonight with some beef burritos.

Pirramimma War Horse Shiraz

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2010 Vintage) says
This, says Pirramimma. Ôis our first definitive shiraz release in 120 years of winemakingÕ, from 70-year-old contoured vines. It has received Rolls Royce treatment, including 100% new oak, and is akin to an essence of McLaren Vale shiraz, with sultry black fruits, dark chocolate, spices of all kinds, and ripe tannins.
