Plunkett Fowles Stone Dwellers Pinot Noir

Cracka Review

This distinctively regional Pinot Noir offers medium bright ruby-red colour – a relatively deep colour for Pinot Noir. It has rich aromas of violets, plum and spice with an earthy undercurrent. Notes of morello cherry feature on the palate. This wine has dry residual sugar, warm alcohol, evident and grippy tannins and balanced acid. A well-structured wine with excellent length of flavour. Served perfectly with duck leg confit with cotechino sausage, lentils and brussel sprouts.

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Well-made, capturing all the varietal character available; spicy/briary notes are authentic; clever use of higher than normal acidity to balance the alcohol; surprise packet.
