Preveli Wines Shiraz

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

This delicate shiraz is good to go at your next dinner party, especially if you are serving lamb. Subtle aromas of dark plums and white pepper float out of the glass, whilst the palate is medium-bodied, smooth and spicy, with soft tannins and acidity, and a sedate, mellow finish.

Winemaker's Notes

A lovely, soft, rounded wine with floral, pepper and plum-jam aromas. The palate shows characters of red berries, sweet plum, vanilla and spice. A light to medium bodied style with soft tannins and great texture assisted by 18 months maturation. Enjoy now with modern Australian cuisine or cellar for 3-5 years.

Light-bodied; quite elegant and well-balanced but nowhere near enough weight or vinosity.

Layered texture; oak and tannins surrounding sweet fruit; clever winemaking.

Bright, full purple-red; abundant, rich, dark fruit aromas are interwoven with well-integrated American oak; the palate has strong texture, structure and depth, with lush mid-palate blackberry and plum fruit, then fine tannins to close. Fermented and matured in new American oak, sourced from the Casas Vineyard near Rosabrook. Gold medal 2002 Sheraton Wine Awards.
