Tyson Stelzer (2013 Vintage) says
I've always liked La Magia, but never as much as this release. 32 years to perfect an amazing juxtaposition between high-strung acidity and beautifully succulent sweetness.

Very aromatic and richly tropical, rose petals, honey and peach with a certain delicacy and mandarin-like fine acidity.

Jeremy Oliver (2008 Vintage) says
Very smooth, luscious and juicy, this savoury dessert wine has a heady floral bouquet of peach, pear, lime and tropical fruit, with a hint of banana. Long and viscous, its sweet, marmalade-like palate of quince, cumquat and stonefruit has a nutty, mealy background with a hint of funkiness and a slightly salty note at the finish.

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
A super-elegant wine, retaining dominant riesling varietal character; the balance between sweetness and acidity cannot be faulted. Continues a long tradition. (The 15% traminer is from Coonawarra.)

Scented with musky, spicy, traminer-driven aromas of cloves, cinnamon and lychees over Suggestions of rose oil, honey and mineral, it's elegant juicy and luscious, Sweet, concentrated layers of vibrant apricot, peach, pear and apple fruit overlie a fine chalkiness, finishing long and clean with tropical pineapple flavour and fresh acidity.

Good balance and length; fully sweet, but nice balancing acidity; preserved lemon/lime flavours.

Jeremy Oliver (2003 Vintage) says
Very intense, highly botrytised and rather cloying dessert wine whose spicy, lychee-like influences from traminer add to the wine's citrusy and honeyed riesling-derived flavour's. It's a shade too varnishy for a top score, although its lusciousness and concentration are nothing less than impres-sive.

Jeremy Oliver (2002 Vintage) says
An exotic perfume of spicy lemon blossom, honeysuckle and lemon meringue overlies fragrant nuances of pear, apple and lychees, with underlying musky rose oil traminer influences. Syrupy and honeyed, the concentrated, luscious palate of great intensity and sweetness reveals pristine, pure fruit before a lingering, clean finish. Excellent poise and balance.

James Halliday (2002 Vintage) says
Fragrant, pristine varietal aromas reflecting 85 per cent riesling, 15 per cent gewurztraminer. Well balanced; still to build complexity.
