Protero Wines Gumeracha Adelaide Hills Viognier

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
Very well made; marries good apricot and peach varietal character with an almost silky finish, rare with viognier.

Ken Gargett (2004 Vintage) says
The superhero-esque name refers to the Proterozoic era soils, up to 2.6 billion years old, that make up the vineyard (which is in Gumeracha, just east of Adelaide). Thank heavens you don't need to know that to enjoy this wineÑalthough it may explain a slight minerally character. Mainly, though, this is full of the overwhelming apricot flavours that distinguish viognier from everything else. Except perhaps apricots.
