Pyren Vineyard Broken Quartz Pyrenees Shiraz

Cracka Review

The Broken Quartz Shiraz label is generally made from fruit harvested from the lower lying end of Block B and Block C. As a rule of thumb, these Shiraz vines carry greater vigour and fruit opulence than the more elevated vines.

The resulting wine rates very highly on the all important drinkability scale with ripe flavours well balanced with elegant acids.

Vibrant color; supple and smooth blackberry and plum fruits, with a juicy mid- and back-palate; has structure, but delicious early-drinking style. Value

Slightly deeper colour than Block E; more spicy/savoury/earthy aspects to both bouquet and palate; despite its lower alcohol and price, is better balanced, with sweeter tannins.

Spicy black fruit aromas; a quite complex medium-bodied array of gently sweet fruits supported by fine tannins.
