James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Deep, dense purple-crimson; has an immensely powerful bouquet with ripe black fruits swathed in toasty/vanillan oak, repeated on the full-bodied multi-layered yet smooth textured palate; fruit, alcohol and oak all travel on the high road, but are in fundamental balance. A hammered-in Diam took a jackhammer to remove it.

WINESTATE (2009 Vintage) says
Plum nose with smoky hints and lovely depth of blackberry jam-like flavours

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Deep and bright colour; a rich, voluptuous wine with an array of aromas and flavours ranging from ripe black fruits through to more savoury spicy notes; the tannins are ripe and balanced.

Not for the faint-hearted; a full-blooded pepper and spice-box style of shiraz, rich in oak and mid-palate fruit sweetness with plenty of tannin

James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
Good colour; blueberry and plenty of spice, with an underpinning of savoury ironstone; the tannins are firm and dry, and there is plenty of rich, ripe and dense dark fruit to soak them up. Time will reward.

James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
Deep, impenetrable colour; masses of flavour, and does admit the textural complexity not so apparent in the varietal version, thanks to gently ripe tannins. I do wonder how the wines will compare in 10 years' time.

James Halliday (2004 Vintage) says
A medium- to full-bodied, attractive wine with blackberry, spice, pepper, mocha, and fine, ripe tannins. Great vintage.

Powerful, focused and complex; intense spice, black fruits and blackberry; integrated American oak and lingering tannins.

James Halliday (2002 Vintage) says
Very complex, concentrated and powerful blackberry, plum, prune and spice; quite gamey; might excite the attention of the brett police.

James Halliday (2001 Vintage) says
Dense purple-red; a complex and rich bouquet with powerful fruit and obvious vanilla oak is followed by a massively rich and complex palate with sweet black cherry, plum and blackberry fruit, the vanillin oak firing a final salvo. Sixteen months in American oak. USA, here we come.
