Quartz Reef Methode Traditionelle Vintage

Expert Reviews

Australian Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine (2007 Vintage) says
A blend of chardonnay 80 per cent, and pinot noir 20 per cent, that has been aged on the lees for four years. The fine, toasty character of chardonnay dominates, although the pinot noir adds a hint of richness and chocolate-box character. It's a tight, youthful wine with good bready, nutty autolysis character. A stylish methode from an excellent vintage. A hot prospect for further bottle-age, which should promote an even creamier texture and greater complexity.

Look out NV champagne! How can Central Otago produce such finesse? With a lot of work, that's how! Almost blanc de blancs with low dosage, no malolactic fermentation and nigh-on four years on lees provide a fine backbone of mineral acidity.
