Cracka Review

Full flavoured yet succulent Viognier from this celebrated Canberra vineyard. The key to this wines success is all about balance, carefully matching ripe fruit with requisite acidity. Smart wine, drinking beautifully.

Winemaker's Notes

More delicate style with pear and ginger notes, spicy oak, a palate full of stone fruit and zest, medium weight with lingering citrusy acid.

Ravensworth Wine Reviews and Accolades

"This amazingly good white cements Bryan Martin’s place as one of Canberra’s best winemakers… deep, complex and fresh...delicious white peach and nectarine."

Ravensworth Viognier

Expert Reviews

Nick Stock (2008 Vintage) says
A restrained and gently fragrant viognier from a cool climate and a cool vintage, this has a fine apricot, ginger and citrus fruit nose with subtle, spicy overlay. The palate is neat as a pin with soft, sliding textural build and a very gentle balance. Quiet wine, very delicate.

Nick Stock (2007 Vintage) says
Bryan Martin has transformed this into a rich, ripe savoury barrel-fermented style, adding nutty appeal to the waxy gingerbread fruit characters. Rich savoury palate follows suit, more ginger biscuits and honeysuckle.

James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
Amazing, glowing yellow-green colour more typical of a 10-year-old wine than a 1-year-old; has plenty of spicy apricot varietal character and, if skin contact produced the colour, the expected phenolics don't appear on the finish.
