Red Hill Estate Chardonnay

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Much of the credit for this wine goes to Wendy Lloyd (who runs Eldridge with her husband David) who is known as 'the Chardonnay Queen'. Unsurprising then by how high quality this Chardonnay is, a minerally and super fine Chardonnay with cleverly understated oak and no shortage of acidity.

Winemaker's Notes

Chardonnay has been the Mornington Peninsula’s most consistent performer. The cool maritime climate produces vibrant fruit driven wines with refreshing natural acidity.

Aromas of fig, white peach and citrus combine with a delicate background of spicy French oak. The palate has exceptional finesse with a long soft creamy mouth feel balanced by crisp mineral acidity.

Drinking beautifully now this Chardonnay will continue to develop complex bottle aged characters over the next 3-5 years.

Intense and very stylish; grapefruit and nectarine are seamlessly interwoven with barrel ferment French oak and malolactic ferment influences; has finesse and length.
