Redbank Emily Pinot Noir Chardonnay Brut Cuvee

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

This bargain fizz is bound to be a crowd pleaser without breaking the bank, and what's more, it's a tasty drop! Aromas of stone fruits, lemons, dairy and roasted nuts rise from the glass, whilst the palate is relatively dry, with soft, fleshy, ripe peach flavours, a creamy mouthfeel, and a nice little zip of citrusy acidity cleaning up the finish. Great for casual get-togethers.

Winemaker's Notes

Pale straw in colour with a persistent bead, this delicate fruit driven wine has aromas of lemon zest, peach skin and white nougat.

The palate is finely structured with subtle flavours of roasted cashews and brioche from extended time on lees. The creamy texture and fine line of citrus acidity drives the palate to a crisp and refreshing finish.

Emily is a wine to be enjoyed at any time and to celebrate any occasion.

Redbank Emily Pinot Noir Chardonnay Brut Cuvee

Expert Reviews

Peter Forrestal says
A popular bubbly on cafe lists around the country because it's an easy-drinking style with some intriguing straw characters, a hint of yeast, clean flavours, and balanced acidity.

We winos can get a bit precious at times. 'Pinot noir chardonnay brut cuvee non-vintage'? More of a mouthful than the wine itself. 'Redbank fizz' would do, but then the highly paid marketing gurus wouldn't be so highly paid. Seems an awful lot of fuss for a thirteen-buck bottle of bubbles. But what good value. Lovely fizz in the broad, ripe, full-flavoured style.

Neill Robb's family winery is situated in the Pyrenees region of Victoria although this wine is sourced from far beyond its boundaries. The Emily Brut has lifted floral perfumes, yeasty, lemon-citrus flavours, soft creamy texture and a crisp, dry finish. A fine aperitif.
