Ray Jordan (2010 Vintage) says
One of the few straight cabernet francs around. It comes from a little patch of dirt near the winery and it always seems to produce something special. This one is more robust and powerful but still has that lovely perfumed aromatic. Lots of dark chocolate and cherry flavours with a nice lick of oak. Will improve with medium term ageing.

Time and again, cabernet franc performs better in Margaret River than anywhere else in Australia, and this is no exception. Both the bouquet and palate are full of plum and raspberry fruit, the gently spicy, warm tannins a featherbed for the fruit to rest on. Outstanding example.

Lifted, perfumed aromas with a dusting of oak. Nice silky-smooth texture to the flavoursome palate.

Not too many make a straight cabernet franc - it takes a brave soul or the right stuff. Good on 'em. It tastes different but good. It's pretty and fragrant with notes of fruit pastille, raspberry fruit and a sweet grassiness and dusty, chocolatey oak in support. It's medium-bodied, firm and red-fruited, but satisfying. The tannin grips a little too much on the finish but it's a nice style of wine.

Supports the idea that Margaret River has a superior clone of cabernet franc to any in the east, or is it terroir? Either way; has fragrant red fruits, spices and fine, silky tannins.

Savoury, cedary, spicy, even tobacco leaf - all varietal markers, but what is the inherent charm?

Fragrant, light to medium-bodied; red berries with a twist of savoury spice. Margaret River succeeds with the variety where others fail.
