Robert Johnson Vineyards Alan & Veitch Merlot

Cracka Review

Deep blood red. This shows the hallmarks of a low yielding but cooler vintage with lovely depth and freshness. The nose is perfumed with ‘sweet’ musk and red rose florals, ripe garden plum fresh from the tree and fragrant oak spice. Very enticing cooler climate style. The palate shows the usually concentration of this wine – huge – but with a greater degree of elegance than in recent releases. A little more compact it has ripe blood plum and sweet spice flavours and cherry pip tannins. A fantastic effort and must rank among the best Merlots currently available.
