Robert Oatley Sauvignon Blanc

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

When Oatley were stuck for a name for their premium Mudgee wines it was right before their eyes. Bob Oatley is the driving force behind the brand so it was only right he should get the credit on the label. The wines he refers to as a ‘darn good drink’ really do over deliver in every way. This Sauvignon Blanc is made with fruit sourced from Pemberton and Margaret River and is zesty and tropical with a refreshing fruit palate and a clean, acid finish. It pairs well with fresh oysters or prawns.

Winemaker's Notes

We travel to the West for Sauvignon Blanc, combining two outstanding regions in Margaret River and Pemberton, for this delightfully zesty, tropical flavoured white that is devoid of any oak influence.

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Cool, fine and focused pea pod bouquet; the palate is lively and certainly varietal, with a touch of tropical generosity to offset the crisp herbaceous edge.

WINESTATE (2008 Vintage) says
Great varietal fruit that was "picked at the right time", according to one judge. Real fruit weight and great texture, with lovely tropical characters and warming alcohol.
