Expert Reviews

WINESTATE (2009 Vintage) says
Complex, rich, dryish style, estate-grown at Rapaura in the Wairau Valley, and certified Bio-Gro. Partly barrel-fermented, with strong pear, lychee and spice flavours, earthy, savoury notes and good texture. Lots of interest here.

James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Ordering Pinot Gris from New Zealand is like playing Russian roulette, as you never know what style is in store for you; this off-dry and generous rendition delivers a palate full of warm baked apple, spice and talc; the palate is fleshy and fragrant, finishing with a bitter note that actually provides freshness; the slight heat prickle on the finish detracts a little from the overall quality.
