Rolf Binder Heinrich Shiraz Mataro Grenache

Cracka Review

Three classic varieties have come together in this wine. The combination is 60% Shiraz, 25% Mataro and 15% Grenache. It has produced a full bodied yet soft wine with a complex structure of the fruit oak and gentle tannins.

Each variety adds its individual talents with nuances of chocolate, raspberry, beef stockpot and a berry fruit sweetness.

The finish is dry and the flavours linger on the palate with subtle oak and tannin adding to the fruit characters creating a full and comprehensive wine that will drink well now but also benefit from cellaring.

James Halliday (2008 Vintage) says
Bright and clear red-purple, another remarkable escape from the clutches of the heatwave; it is possible to deconstruct the blend and look at the contribution of each component: suffice it to say they all contribute to the spicy and savoury aspects of a refreshing medium-bodied wine, both the modest alcohol and abstemious use of oak the final touches.
