Expert Reviews

Jeremy Oliver (2002 Vintage) says
Thin, green and sappy, with a closed, herbal aroma of plums cedar/vanilla oak and vegetal undertones. Meaty and herbaceous, its slightly soupy palate begins with some sweet, forward red and black berry flavours but thins out towards a greenish finish of metallic tannins.
Australian Wine Annual 2007 2006
James Halliday (2000 Vintage) says
Youthful purple-red; lifted, high-toned black fruit aromas together with a touch of spice precede a palate with penetrating, slightly sharp, fruit flavours. Shows its cool climate.
Australian Wine Companion 2004 2003
Jeremy Oliver (2000 Vintage) says
Polished minty cabernet with a briary fragrance of violets and cassis with a background of cedar/vanilla oak. Long, smooth and creamy, it's a stylish wine with tightly focused cassis and plum flavours neatly meshed with cedary oak and fine, powdery tannins.
Australian Wine Annual 2005 2004
James Halliday (1998 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; the moderately intense bouquet has a mix of cedary/spicy/slightly savoury/dark berry fruit aromas, building presence on the palate, with plenty of quite sweet dark berry fruit and surprisingly pronounced tannins on the finish. Will amply repay cellaring.
Australian Wine Companion 2003 2002
James Halliday (1996 Vintage) says
Medium to full red-purple; a fragrant bouquet with berry and chocolate fruit interwoven with cedar and cigar box aromas. The palate shows elegant Cabernet flavours, with a long, lingering, gently tannic finish. In an austere mode, which will particularly appeal to those who like the wines of Bordeaux.
