James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
Very light colour; fragrant and fresh; the red fruit flavours are pretty, but doesn't have enough weight and concentration for higher points.

James Halliday (2004 Vintage) says
Deeper red-purple than the varietal; distinctly richer and more complex notwithstanding the same alcohol; plums, spices and good tannins. Once again, cork, not screwcap, for the better wine. Why?

Good balance and length; nicely judged touch of oak; fine tannins.

James Halliday (2002 Vintage) says
Significantly more complex than the varietal, though still in the lighter-bodied end of the spectrum; has good length and persistence.

James Halliday (2001 Vintage) says
Medium purple-red; the complex bouquet has distinct foresty/gamey aromas which are quite possibly partly due to brettanomyces; the medium-bodied palate has dark plum fruit of considerable depth supported by fine, lingering tannins. Not an easy wine to point; I have given it the benefit of the doubt.

James Halliday (2000 Vintage) says
Bright, medium red-purple; the bouquet, while only moderately intense, has attractive plum fruit, a hint of forest, and subtle oak. There is good depth to the plummy fruit on the palate, which finishes with fine tannins and neatly handled oak. A superior wine.
