Michael Cooper (2009 Vintage) says
The 2009 vintage estate-grown and hand-picked in the Gimblett Gravels, Hawke's Bay, was matured for 16 months in French oak barriques. A powerful, silky red, with dense, inky colour, it has notably rich, brambly, plummy, peppery flavours, a lovely silky texture and a lasting finish. It should flourish for a decade.

Typically spicy, peppery New Zealand style of shiraz. A little on the lean side but very stylish and promising, with lifted, spicy berry aromas and elegant flavours. Has it all.
