Sacred Hill Reserve Barrel Fermented Chardonnay

Expert Reviews

James Halliday (1999 Vintage) says
Medium yellow-green; a complex bouquet with the generous use of barrel-fermentation and malolactic fermentation to push the wine along. The palate is long and quite intense, with fig and cashew flavours, the fruit supporting the winemaking inputs.

James Halliday (1997 Vintage) says
Medium to full yellow-green; the bouquet is rich and complex with ripe nectarine fruit and attractive toasty oak. The palate opens with all the promise of the bouquet, with tangy fruit, but the 14 degrees alcohol starts to make its presence felt towards the slightly heavy finish. Uncompromising food style.
Australian Wine Companion 2000 1999
James Halliday (1996 Vintage) says
Light green-yellow; the bouquet shows, light, clean fruit without a great deal of depth or varietal character, and just a hint of oak. The palate is exactly as the bouquet suggests; the oak in which the wine was fermented could not possibly be new, but on the other hand, the result is a wine in balance, even if it is on the light side.
