Michael Cooper (1998 Vintage) says
Not oak-aged, this Hawke's Bay red is typically delicious in its youth - fragrant, ripe, soft and flavourful in a vibrantly fruity style. The boldly coloured 1998 vintage offers plenty of ripe cassis/plum flavour, fresh and supple, with a slightly chocolatey richness and loads of drink-young charm.

Michael Cooper (1996 Vintage) says
The flavourful 1996 vintage is an enjoyable, although not complex, Hawke's Bay red with medium-full colour and fresh, berry/spice aromas. It's a very lightly oaked wine with fairly ripe cassis/plum flavours and gentle tannins. A bouyant drink-young style for 1997-98.
