Nose armed with blackberries with a mineral thread and pronounced oak. Very similar palate that delivers delicious flavours. Tannins still a bit aggressive. 3-5

Medium-bodied; has developed to fully express earthy/leathery regional characters, yet retains a core of savoury/dusty fruit on a long finish

James Halliday (2000 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; the moderately intense bouquet has dark berry, earth and spice/licorice aromas; the medium-bodied palate is strongly regional, with a range of leathery, earthy, savoury notes around the mulberry fruit; finishes with fine tannins. From a dry-grown vineyard, and spends 18 months in French and American oak.

James Halliday (1998 Vintage) says
Quite strong red-purple; the bouquet offers a harmonious range of plum/cherry/savoury/spicy aromas. Those sweet fruit aromas provide the core of the palate, supported by more savoury/regional characters. Well-balanced oak and tannin.
