Michael Cooper (2000 Vintage) says
Medium yellow, with a strongly oaked bouquet (from 10 months in seasoned barrels), the 2000 vintage is weighty and herbaceous, with a slightly buttery, Chardonnay-like character and good richness and concentration.

Michael Cooper (1999 Vintage) says
The punchy 1999 vintage was grown in Marlborough's Awatere Valley and 30 percent of the blend was fermented and lees-aged for 10 months in barrels; the rest was handled in tanks. Nettley and nutty on the nose, it's a high-flavoured wine with ripe fruit characters seasoned with spicy oak and a slightly buttery, rich finish.
