Expert Reviews

James Halliday (2007 Vintage) says
An aromatic, floral bouquet, then a fresh and lively palate with crisp citrus and green apple flavours; long finish.
Australian Wine Companion 2009 2008
Jeremy Oliver (2007 Vintage) says
A tangy, rather shapely and sculpted riesling that needs some aeration to blow away its rather pungent and meaty presence of smoky, cheesy sulphides. Then its long, vibrant and chalky expression of fresh limes, apple and pear shines through, delivering a long, fine-grained palate that finishes with a pleasingly crisp acidity.
Australian Wine Annual 2009 2008
WINESTATE (2007 Vintage) says
Fresh orange blossom bouquet and a nicely balanced palate thats round, soft and long.
Winestate 20082009
James Halliday (2006 Vintage) says
A flowery and fruity bouquet which diminishes somewhat on the palate; on the plus side has a long finish, driven by acidity.
Australian Wine Companion 2008 2007
Jeremy Oliver (2006 Vintage) says
An honest, simple, but slightly coarse riesling with intense but slightly candied lemon rind and green apple aromas. Forward, juicy and confection-like, it then thins out towards lean, drying and lemon sherbet-like finish. Lacks genuine length of fruit.
Australian Wine Annual 2008 2007
James Halliday (2005 Vintage) says
Unusual orange peel and spice aromas; flavoursome, but relatively soft; limitations of the region are all too apparent.
Australian Wine Companion 2007 2006
Jeremy Oliver (2005 Vintage) says
A generous and crisply defined riesling with fresh, floral aromas of apple, pear and lemon zest and a juicy, almost crunchy palate of vibrant, tangy fruit Its pleasing length of citrusy fruit culminates in a lingering and refreshing finish with lingering nuances of lime marmalade.
Australian Wine Annual 2007 2006
James Halliday (2004 Vintage) says
Fresh and clean; good focus and vivacity; light grapefruit and apple flavours.
Australian Wine Companion 2006 2005
Jeremy Oliver (2004 Vintage) says
Vibrant aromas of lime juice and lemon rind, with undertones of cheap musky floral perfume. Moderately intense, its smooth, even palate of tangy, penetrative citrus flavour culminates in a clean, slightly hard but refreshing finish of crisp, apple-like acids.
Australian Wine Annual 2006 2005
Jeremy Oliver (2003 Vintage) says
Fresh, racy young riesling with a penetrative, punchy aroma of lime juice and lemon rind, green apples and bathpowder. Its palate is lightly spicy, juicy and crunchy, with up-front green apple flavours and texture before a refreshing finish of lemony acids and minerals.
Australian Wine Annual 2005 2004
James Halliday (2003 Vintage) says
Clean, floral lime aromas; juicy lemon and passionfruit flavours, long and almost succulent; totally delicious. Eighty-five per cent Mount Barker.
