James Halliday (2001 Vintage) says
Bright red-purple; the bouquet has moderately fragrant red berry fruit aromas. The palate is ripe and structured without losing varietal character; good oak and tannin extract. Open fermented, and completes fermentation in a mix of American and French oak plus 15 months' maturation.

James Halliday (2000 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; the moderately intense bouquet has some savoury/leafy edges to the fruit, characters which come through in the minty/leafy aspects of the berry fruit. Partially varietal, no doubt, and the wine should have been ripe at 13.2°.
