Sauvion Chinon Dilection

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

Chinon from the Loire Valley is one of those underrated wines that can hold it's ground against rich red meat dishes, and this one is a perfect intro to the style. It's a deep, compact wine that shows lots of spiced dark berries and red fruits on the nose with some generous sniffs of cedary oak. The palate is quite full-bodied with plummy and anise flavours, firm tannins, and a dry, refreshing finish.

Winemaker's Notes

Appearance: Very dense, flexing violet colour with ruby hints.

Nose: Complex bouquet of ripe red fruits (raspberry) and stone fruit (black cherry) mixed with subtly spicy flavours and a strong woody quality.

Palate: Ample and generous in the mouth. Vanilla, liquorice and grilled almond flavours.

Food: Enjoy this wine with meats in sauce, venison or cheese.
