This sav blanc out of the Sancerre region of France is a dry, slightly fuller-bodied number than what we are generally used to, but that means it goes with more robust foods like roast chook. There's plenty of gooseberries, lemon and lime citrus on the nose, with a hint of herbs and jasmine florals. The palate is quite fruity, full and frisky, with a decent line of cleansing acidity, some talciness to the texture and a long, dry finish.

Winemaker's Notes

Extremely aromatic, dry but full-bodied, Sancerre was once known as the "Paris Bistro Wine". It is now served in the most prestigious restaurants worldwide. A glass of Sancerre is a must with a piece of "Crottin", the local goat's cheese! Sancerre is the ideal wine for courting!

Nose: Broom plant, jasmine, acacia, boxtree.

Palate: Aromatic, elegant, great finesse.

Food: Ideal with crayfish, lobsters, gambas and the famous goat's cheese.

Grape Variety: 100% Sauvignon Blanc.
