Schubert Wairarapa Cabernet Merlot

Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2001 Vintage) says
Harvested in May, the 2001 vintage is a 50/50 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, matured for over two years in French oak casks (75 per cent new). Densely coloured, it's a powerful red (14 per cent alcohol) with fresh blackcurrant, plum, mint and nut flavours, concentrated and youthful. Well worth cellaring

Michael Cooper (2000 Vintage) says
The supple, concentrated 2000 vintage was grown in Martinborough and matured for two years in French oak casks (75 per cent new). The bouquet is slightly leafy; the palate generous, with blackcurrant and plum flavours seasoned with quality oak. There's a slightly green thread running through, but also lots of drinking pleasure here.
