Michael Cooper (2003 Vintage) says
The 2003 vintage was grown mostly at East Taratahi, near Masterton, and matured for over a year in French oak casks (75 per cent new). It shows some colour development, with strawberry, spice and herb aromas in a muscular (14. 5 percent alcohol), savoury, firm style with good complexity and harmony. Quite advanced for a 2003, it's drinking well already.

Michael Cooper (2002 Vintage) says
Based mainly on first-crop vines at East Taratahi, near Masterton, the sturdy 2001 vintage is drenched with ripe plum/cherry flavours, seasoned with spicy French oak. The 2002 was matured for over a year in French oak barriques (60 per cent new). It's a powerful wine, robust (14.5 per cent alcohol), with sweet-fruit characters and strong cherry and spice flavours, already quite savoury, nutty and complex. A firm wine with loads of character, it will probably be at its best during 2004-06.
