Scotchmans Hill Ferryman Mornington Peninsula Pinot Gr

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

This is quite a rich, ripe style of PG that shows typical pears and subtle spice on the nose, along with hints of florals. The palate has a kiss of sweetness upfront, before the pear flavours kick in, supported by lemony acidity, a talcy mouthfeel, and a bright, fresh finish. Try it with ginger spiced pork.

Winemaker's Notes

Lifted perfume, nashi pears and bath salts aromas, citrus notes with a waxy edge. The palate is full and ripe with pears, citrus fruits and spice. This is balanced by a firm acid backbone to be enjoyed over the next 2 ½ years.

James Halliday (2013 Vintage) says
Relatively low yield, hand picking, whole bunch pressing and cool fermentation have produced a wine with above average intensity, although not especially complex; works well.
