Scotchmans Hill Henry Frost Clare Valley Shiraz

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

This is a lovely choc-coated plum style of wine, that also shows smells of mocha and dried herbs. The palate is more medium-bodied, with a juicy plummy centre, slinky tannins, and an elegant raspberry and soft spice finish. Ideal with lamb cutlets

Winemaker's Notes

The 2010 Shiraz has complex aromas of plums and blackberries with chocolate, spice and French oak. The palate is rich and powerful with sweet ripe dark fruits, a touch of chocolate and spice. This is rounded by well integrated oak, firm acid and fine tannins. This wine will benefit from cellaring for the next 4 to 7 years.

Expert Reviews

The Wine Front (2010 Vintage) says
Mint chocolate, blackberry and a little coffee and vanilla the main smells and flavours. Medium to full bodied, well balanced and well, pretty smooth, for want of a better description. Smooth pliant tannin, fresh slightly pippy acidity, and a little raspberry flavour coming through on the finish. A crowd pleasing, largely driven fruit style that delivers the goods at the price.
