Seppeltsfield Vera Viola Oloroso

Cracka Review

Colour: Deep amber-brown.

Nose: The nose is lifted and complex with an array of raisin fruit, dried peel, hints of leather and nutty rancio.

Palate: The palate is rich and profound with initial, nutty, honeyed sweetness evolving to highlight drier rancio characters, before an extremely long, dry finish.

Nick Stock says
The DP38 is proper oloroso in style, with an average age of 18 years. It has a deep amber colour and smells of toasted nuts, sweet spices and woody aromas. On the palate it's gently sweet and filled with toasted nut flavours, tightening through the finish with citrus rind and a long rancio finish. Tastes sweet, finishes dry!

James Halliday says
Light golden brown, with just a hint of olive; here the honeyed flavours are more persistent, accompanied by dried fruit and nut flavours. Has tremendous length; it is not until the aftertaste that the rancio dries out the mouth, demanding another sip to start the process again. Average age of 18 years, but as fresh as a daisy; 500 ml
