Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2002 Vintage) says
Top vintages are crammed with dark cherry, spice and nut flavours, very warm, complex and rich. Fermented with indigenous yeasts, matured for 15 months in French oak barriques and bottled unfiltered, the 2002 is deeply coloured and impressively concentrated, with cherry, raspberry and spice flavours and finely integrated oak. Still youthful, it's a firmly structured wine showing excellent complexity, but needs more time; open 2006+.

Top vintages are crammed with dark cherry, spice and nut flavours, very warm, complex and rich. Grown at Renwick, fermented with indigenous ('wild') yeasts, matured for 15 months in French oak barriques and bottled unfiltered, the 2001 is deeply coloured and fragrant, with sweet-fruit delights and rich cherry, raspberry and spice flavours. Slightly less complex in its youth than the outstanding 2000' it is firmly structured and still youthful; open mid-2004+.
