Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2010 Vintage) says
Put simply, the 2009 vintage is a great wine. From the oldest vines in the Home Vineyard - low-cropped to produce the ripest fruit - and partly barrel-fermented, it is authoritative, mouthfilling, concentrated and dry, with deep melon/lime flavours, a hint of nuts, and lovely vibrancy, complexity and length. The 2010, certified by BioGro, was 40 per cent barrel-fermented (French barriques, seasoned, for five months). Still very youthful, it needs, almost demands, time. Very mouthfilling (14.5 per cent alcohol), it is crisp and gently oaked, with strong, very vibrant melon, lime and nut flavours, minerally, complex and dry. Best drinking 2013+.
