Shagger's Station Pinot Noir

Cracka Rating

Cracka Review

It's a stunning part of the world is Central Otago, with dramatic snow capped mountains towering above brown hills and leafy vineyards in the ultimate vineyard scenery imaginable. Suitable then that the wines are as dramatic, with intense flavours and beautiful aromatics.

This is unquestionably a more approachable style of Central Otago Pinot, but still with no shortage of flavour or intensity. It's just a brilliant mouthful of lovely Pinot fruit, at an absolute Cracka of a price. No blockbuster here, just smooth, cherry fruit flavours in the best possible style.

Winemaker's Notes

This Pinot Noir from the excellent 2008 vintage is a soft and velvety style showing subtle dark cherry, strawberry and spicy aromas delivered in an elegant and moreish package.

Andrew Graham (2008 Vintage) says
Forget the name. It's silly, we all know that. But this Pinot isn't. It smells great, with that lovely Central Otago Pinot prettiness shining through. The fleshiness translates nicely onto the palate, which is lacking only a little persistance. Sexy time flavours though....
