Expert Reviews

Jeremy Oliver (2003 Vintage) says
Afull-flavoured, stylish and well-balanced merlot whose fragrant perfume of dark cherries, plums and blackberries reveals undertones of cedary, dusty and vanilla-like new oak qualities. Medium to full in weight, it presents length and intensity, with an undercarriage of smooth, silky and fine-grained tannins that allows its fruit to build in the mouth.

Jeremy Oliver (2002 Vintage) says
Concentrated, with layers of structure and richness, great balance. Very elegant and fine, with powdery tannins.

James Halliday (2002 Vintage) says
Spotlessly clean; intense, fruit-driven but complex; a web of small red fruits with nuances of spice and olive; very good mouthfeel.

James Halliday (2001 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; the moderately intense and clean bouquet shows distinctive varietal character with ripe, small berry fruit and touches of olive and herb; the palate has excellent structure and weight, with strong, savoury varietal character in evidence from start to finish.

James Halliday (2000 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; a fine, spotlessly clean bouquet with ripe dark berry fruit and a delicate filigree of spice and oak, then a palate with excellent small red fruit flavours, perfect oak balance and integration, fine tannins, and a long, silky finish. Brave winemaking (one month on skins post fermentation) has given rise to a near-freakish outcome for an indifferent vintage.
