Shaw and Smith Riesling

Cracka Review

The vineyard produces classic Riesling with intense floral and lime characters coupled with a long and austere palate. Exactly the sort of bone dry Riesling we love to drink! These wines age marvelously and develop complex tertiary characters through time.

James Halliday (2009 Vintage) says
Pale green-straw; a flowery bouquet leads into a delicate palate with citrus and green apple flavours, the palate drawn out by lingering, fresh acidity. The last of the line, the vines now removed.

A beautifully poised and calibrated wine; has a delicacy not often encountered in the '07s, with all the requirements for development in bottle.

James Halliday (2002 Vintage) says
Light straw-green; the core of lime and mineral aromas has a faint tropical edge; there is a classic tight structure to the palate, presently driven and lengthened by mineral acidity, simply waiting for the fruit to develop.
