Expert Reviews

Jeremy Oliver (2001 Vintage) says
Minty, meaty and herbal aromas of shaded small dark berry fruits and plums, with nuances of menthol and cedary oak. Its intense but grippy palate presents sweet flavours of red and black berries with a slightly sappy, green edge, plus some assertive cedar/vanilla oak. Firm and flavoursome; needs time to settie and integrate.

James Halliday (2001 Vintage) says
Fine, savoury, supple style with earthy notes and minimal oak.
Australian Wine Companion 2005 2004
James Halliday (1998 Vintage) says
Medium red-purple; an archetypal Australian version of the classic Bordeaux blend, with a mix of leaf, herb and some red berry fruit to the bouquet. The palate comes as a surprise, with grippy tannins throwing it out of balance at the present time. There are some red fruit flavours in the core, and the tannins will partially, at least, resolve with time.
Australian Wine Companion 2003 2002
James Halliday (1997 Vintage) says
Bright red-purple; quite powerful, youthful varietal characters on the bouquet with slightly earthy overtones. The palate is far less aggressive, with gentle cassis fruit and well- balanced, fine tannins. Gold medal 1998 National Wine Show; Topped the Cabernet class at the 1999 Winewise Competiton
