Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (2006 Vintage) says
The Simon Whitlam brand has been around since 1979 but it's been through a number of ownership changes over the years. It's just come back into family hands. The alcohol pokes its head right out but otherwise it's a tasty red. It tastes of earth, leather, blackberry and chocolate before creamy, coconut-like oak takes over the aftertaste. You won't find too many red-wine drinkers complaining about this one. It's tasty, blokey and smooth, if a little too woody and warm.
