A blend of touriga nacional and tinta cao available from cellar door. Vivid crimson-purple, it has a beguiling mix of red and glacŽ cherries on the bouquet foretelling the spiced panforte flavours of the light-to medium-bodied palate. Bargain.

Otro vino means 'another wine', which we reckon is a pretty good name for a wine in today's landscape. It's made using the tempranillo, graciano, malbec, tinta vao, touriga and sousao grape varieties. Well, well, well. Smells like a scorched peanut bar, spicy with red and black fruit, glace cherry, but savoury mainly, not sweet. Slight whiff of fresh mint and asparagus. Lots of complexity and interest at this price. Not a big wine, but authoritative with chewy tannins and good reach through the mouth. Charisma plus. Instant hit with us.
