Campbell Mattinson & Gary Walsh (2006 Vintage) says
There's a lot of smart winemaking gone into this, but it would have been a whole lot better if the grapes hadn't been picked so (over)ripe. It's more of everything compared to the Smidge Adamo Shiraz, but it still lacks freshness and detail. Put it this way: the flavours seem blurred and dull, despite there being a lot of flavour here.It tastes of tar, blackberry jam, hay and toast and, for both texture and power, is excellent.
