Michael Cooper (1997 Vintage) says
The '95 is full-bodied, with moderate depth of gooseberry and fresh-cut grass flavour, offering well-rounded, easy-drinking. A small portion (12 per cent) of the 1996 vintage was fermented and lees-aged for four months in new French oak barriques, and given a softening malolactic fermentation. It's a pale straw wine, fleshy, nutty, ripe and rounded in an easy-drinking style with a touch of complexity. (The Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 1997 is a very good effort - weighty, with strong, lively, ripely herbaceous flavours. )
