Expert Reviews

Michael Cooper (2002 Vintage) says
Grown in Hawke's Bay, the 2002 vintage has lots of drink-young charm. Fresh and supple, with full, bright colour, it's a buoyantly fruity wine with red-berry and plum flavours, some spicy oak and a gentle underlay of tannin.

Michael Cooper (2001 Vintage) says
Grown in Hawke's Bay, the 2001 vintage has youthful, medium-full colour Verging on three-star quality, it is fresh, plummy and supple, with very light oak influence in a fruit-driven style, designed for early drinking

Michael Cooper (1998 Vintage) says
The 1997 vintage is an honest, characterful Hawke's Bay red, savoury and oaky, with reasonable depth of red berry and plum flavours. The 1998 is similar. Oak-aged for 20 months, it is fullish in colour, savoury, plummy and supple, with a strong wood influence but some warmth and complexity.

Michael Cooper (1997 Vintage) says
Still developing, the 1997 vintage is an honest, characterful Hawke's Bay red. The colour is not deep, but the palate is savoury and oaky, with reasonable depth of red berry and plum flavours, positive tannins and some complexity.
